“Let food be your medicine and medicine be your food”-  Hippocrates.

You are as healthy as your cells and the health of your cells depends upon good nutrition.

Food today is of poor quality.

  1. Poor quality soil produces poor quality food. The1992 Rio World Summit acknowledged that the soil in the USA is 85%     depleted of minerals.  The soil in the UK is 70% to 75% depleted of minerals.
  2. Food is picked before it is ripe. The highest concentration of phytonutrients develop in the last 24hrs of ripening
  3. Food is processed.  This destroys many essential nutrients.

There is a greater toxic load

  1. Environmental pollution of air, water, and soil.
  2. Increased stress.
  3. Pesticides.  The average person has 300+ pesticides in his / her body.  This interferes with normal cell function.
  4. Food additives – colourings, flavourings, antibiotics, hormones.
Therefore we have a poorer quality of food and an increased toxic load.  Is it surprising that heart disease, asthma, cancer, infertility, ADD/ADHD, arthritis and diabetes are all on the increase?

You can improve your nutritional intake by:

  1. Eating a varied diet
  2. Eating fresh food picked when it is ripe
  3. Eating low glycaemic foods
  4. Increasing your intake of raw food
  5. Taking supplements

You can reduce the toxic load by:

  1. Eating organically grown food
  2. Avoiding aspartame (in diet drinks), sugar, excess coffee / alcohol, chill/cook foods and ready cooked meals
  3. Eating the right diet for you and your blood type
  4. Avoiding foods to which you are sensitive
  5. Eating less

And
Drink 2-4 litres of water daily.  Water carries nutrients to your cells and is required for musles and organs to work properly.  Other drinks don’t count .

It is better to change your eating habits than to go on weight loss diets.
For some people it is beneficial to occasionally rest your digestive system by fasting for 24 hours.
Wheat sensitivity is associated with eczema and asthma
Dairy sensitivity is associated with sinus congestion and the over-production of mucus.
