Nov 2004

Well, my son Barry married Susan on 30th October.  It was beautiful and it was emotional, and it was a great day.  Good speeches, fine food and exuberant Ceilidh dancing.  During the wedding ceremony there were two readings chosen by Barry and Susan.  They are very revealing of their personalities and their approach to Love and Life.  The younger generation amazes me. It seems they are so much more aware of some of the most important concepts in life. (I remember my own naivety when I was their age)

The first reading is from Captain Corelli's Mandolin:

When you fall in love, it is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake, and then it subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots are become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the desire to mate every second of the day. It is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every part of your body. No... don't blush. I am telling you some truths. For that is just being in love; which any of us can convince ourselves we are. Love itself is what is left over, when being in love has burned away. Doesn't sound very exciting, does it? But it is!

.....and from The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams,

"Real isn't how you are made," said the Skin Horse. "It's a thing that happens to you. When a child loves you for a long, long time, not just to play with, but REALLY loves you, then you become Real." "Does it hurt?" asked the Rabbit. "Sometimes," said the Skin Horse, for he was always truthful. "When you are Real you don't mind being hurt." "Does it happen all at once, like being wound up," he asked, "or bit by bit?" "It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand."

And so I ask myself  - Have we contributed to the crystal awareness of youngsters these days?  Is it because we have painfully learned lessons - still are learning lessons - about being real, and about love, that the next generation don't have those lessons to learn. They can be their authentic selves - you know the way youngsters don't  take smash any more.  They can be their authentic selves without making excuses or feeling guilty about what others may see as imperfections because all they are doing is BEING themselves. And - even more exciting - what higher lessons are they learning which will help the following generations.  For it is only because we raise our Consciousness and our Vibration that those that follow are able to function at a higher level.  Our sometimes painful learning has brought Global Vibration to a level that will sustain the Indigo children, that will allow people to come together and create a vortex of healing energy and Love that helps others to change, that will bring more Love into the world, and that will continue to bring us all closer to Bliss and closer to the God that is in each of us.

With much Love

Stan
